These five competitive teams and units were formed in the early days of NROTC at Oregon State.  The Drum & Bugle Corps ceased to exist back in the mid-'90s as a precision marching unit.  What exists now is an "interest group" of D & B enthusiasts who don't compete.     

The other four groups do compete and/or show the OSU NROTC flag at a number of public events.  For midshipmen over the years, each of these units has offered a hands-on option to learn, participate, and lead classmates.  To lead an NROTC unit is a Very Big Deal.
