LOGOS & BADGES

by Jud Blakely USMC (1965-70)

So, I designed the OSU NROTC Alumni "logo" (see above) to serve as a symbol for the website.  It has a number of uses.  Yes, there are two more historical logos that appear over the years in the context of this or that NROTC publication.  See below.  You can review all three.

The two "historical" logos have a lot of time in grade but strike me as past their prime.  If your heart skips a beat because they were part of your lives as Midshipmen, I applaud your nostalgic feelings.  I don't share them because I wasn't in Naval ROTC.  Just how life goes.

What you see below are four examples of what I call "badges."  Galati, Smith, Swingen, and Neve are Committee members.  I used them to demo the badges.  Will they sue?  Each badge is 8"-by-8" and can be printed by any decent print shop to be framed and displayed.

NOTE: I'm willing to conjure up a badge for anyone in the Group who sends me a photo that I can convert (in a few minutes) into a version of what you see here.  I'll need your name, your class, your branch, and a photo of you from, like, belt-high so I can edit it quickly.

Use a cell phone to take the photo, send it to me, and I'll either send back to you a badge (in short order) or tell you what didn't work and how we can resolve it.  Yeah, this ain't no rocket surgery.  Even so, I need what I need so I can do what I do.  Go Navy; Beat Army.
