"Best in the West...and the Rest"

HONOREES

Leadership is Character.  It doesn't wax and wane in accord with this or that problem or fearful crisis.  Leaders are constant in that Moral Traits are the essence of leading and Moral Traits are constant.  They aren't variables that arrive, then depart.  They are bedrock.

Have no doubt, scores of leaders worthy of recognition (as Honorees) are not included here.  The reason isn't that they're objectively less worthy.  The reason is that we believe this small handful of leaders is enough of a symbol to affirm that Leadership is Character.

Feel free to contact Steve Beals and apprise us of NROTC classmates whom you believe should be placed here as Honorees.  We (members of the Alumni Committee) will take a careful look at what you send.  Our prime mission is to forge an historical record of NROTC.

As we move ahead with building this archive, the Group may wish to come up with a less indefinite set of service markers by which we can assess those you put forward as Honorees.  This will be your choice, not ours as a committee.  This entire project is 100% "yours."
