It's quite a window on American culture to look back over the decades at the NROTC publications that have come and gone.  Same with the Oregon State yearbooks for more than a hundred years.  Both capture the hopes and fears and priorities of the public and the nation.

For instance, the Beaver yearbooks since 1946 have varied in how ROTC in general has been "covered" as an integral part of campus life and education per se.  ROTC is altogether missing in a few of them.  Coverage of ROTC by The Barometer has been far less "erratic."
